Questions? We have answers.
Starting ABA can bring up a lot of questions. Here are the ones we hear most often—from families just like yours.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-backed approach to understanding behavior and learning. It helps us figure out how behavior works, how it is affected by the environment, and how learning happens. At Rise ABA, we use ABA to teach meaningful skills—like communication, social interaction, daily living, and emotional regulation—while reducing behaviors that get in the way of growth. Our approach is naturalistic and flexible, meaning we focus on real-life moments rather than rigid drills.
Generally, a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is required by insurance companies to authorize ABA therapy coverage. However, we know that every family's journey looks different. If you are still exploring a diagnosis or waiting for an evaluation, reach out anyway. We can point you toward trusted diagnostic partners and discuss private-pay or consultation options that may help in the meantime.
We know the struggle. Diagnostic waitlists can be long and frustrating, and every month matters. Over the years, we have built strong relationships with diagnostic teams who understand the urgency families feel. We are more than happy to connect you with a trusted diagnostic provider who will do their best to see you as soon as possible. Reach out to us and we will walk beside you through this step.
Of course. We believe naturalistic ABA happens best in the child's natural environment. Many of our sessions take place right at home, where your child is most comfortable and where skills matter most—during meals, playtime, bedtime routines, and transitions. We also offer center-based and school-based support depending on what fits your family best.
Every case is unique, but we definitely try to expedite the process because we know every minute counts. Once we receive your inquiry, our team typically responds within one business day. From there, timing depends on insurance authorization, assessment scheduling, and clinician availability. We keep families informed at every step and do everything we can to move things along smoothly.
We take most major insurances and Medicaid. Coverage for ABA therapy can vary by plan and state, so the easiest next step is to submit an inquiry. Our team will verify your benefits and let you know exactly what your plan covers, what your out-of-pocket costs may be, and how we can make things work for your family.
While we are anticipating adding more states, we currently serve families in New Jersey, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nebraska. If you are outside of these areas, still feel free to reach out—we are growing quickly and may be able to point you toward resources or add you to our waitlist.
We threw out the rigid playbook. Rise ABA blends the same evidence-based science and definitions that define quality ABA with a modern, naturalistic execution that fits real life. That means flexible scheduling, therapy in your child's actual environments, parent coaching built into the model, and a team that treats your family like a partner—not a case file. Our mission is progress, growth, and helping your child rise above any diagnosis.
Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact page or give us a call. We will answer your questions, verify your insurance, and schedule an assessment with a BCBA. From there, we build a personalized plan, match your child with the right clinician, and begin services as quickly as possible. You can also request a free parent training consultation if you are still exploring your options.
Consistency matters, and we work hard to pair your child with clinicians who connect with them and understand their goals. While the same therapist may not be available for every single session, your child's BCBA remains the consistent leader of the treatment plan, and all team members are fully trained on your child's individualized goals. We prioritize building trust and routine.
